Visit to Alun-Alun square pasir malam. Jalan Alun-alun Coordinates on Google Earth.
Basically this lively market of sorts is a mix of a make-shift cobbled-together mobile funfair together with make-shift stalls peddling cheap toys and other assorted amusement items. The market horse carriages Coloured and painted hermit crabs! This was sold all over the place, apparently the locals here have some sort of hermit fetish of some sorts. These hermit crabs have baby faces painted on them with bright colours. Painted hermit crabs for sale. Should I keep one as a pet? 5,000rp ($0.80) for 3 "Fright" house Must be very popular with kids. Ice cream for 2,000rp (S$0.28)!! street food Hand-made soft toys. Very pretty sunset. Walking through the market, I chanced upon a “manual carousel”! This "manual" ride is powered by enthusiastic and very acrobatic young men! No machinery or powered drives required, these guys use their gymnastic-like momentum to turn and make the whole ride move. Check out the video below! Local folklore said that if you can walk through the two banyan trees blindfolded; any wish will come true.. Traditional steam power boats! Old-school heat-powered toy boats. Fuzzy furballs on sale. Before long.. night falls.. =) |
