Street stall selling "Bensin" or petrol, it's extremely cheap, 5,000rp per bottle of petrol can fill up a tank of a motorbike. That's less than a dollar for petrol that can last a week.


Monumen Serangan Umum or the March 11th monument, a monument in honor of General attack March 1, 1949

General attack March 1, 1949 took place in the city of Yogyakarta. This monument commemorates the struggle after WW2 against the Dutch Military Aggression that was trying to reassert their influence after the exit of the Japanese.

It was a large scale planned and prepared by the highest ranks of the military by several top leaders of local civil government based on the instructions of the Commander in Chief Sudirman , to thus strengthen Indonesia's position in ongoing negotiations on the UN Security Council with the primary objective to break the moral forces Netherlands and prove to the world of international that the Indonesian National Army (TNI) still has the power to organize resistance.

Soeharto at that time as commander of the brigade X / Wehrkreis III participate as field operators in the region of Yogyakarta .
