title : Visit to Mengelang Day 2
Day 2 of 2! : In the evening we headed over to Posko Purwosari to survey the immense damage indirectly caused by the Merapi eruption. It was another scene of utter destruction.        This used to be a crop plantation    This is BOG! The ground was deceptively solid despite me testing it’s firmness.But my third step sank completely in.              House completely annihilated.   A tree completely ripped off it’s base.   This used to be a bustling road, now it's caked with ash.  Foundations ripped off.   Buried swing.  A buried slide              Crops entirely destroyed and you can see the direction from where the floods came from.  Mud flowing violently.             Scenes of utter destruction. |
