title : Mall Taman Anggrek and Central Mall
Today’s plans were a little ad-hoc, and I decided to head West. This mall appeared on Tourist / Traveller recommendations, Mall Taman Anggrek and Central Mall. So I headed over to take a look. The front lobby Massive rotating entrance. Rather ornate though. Pretty pleasant layout. It turned out to be a rather pleasant but plain mall, something like a cross between Vivocity and takashimaya, the most interesting facility at Taman Anggrek was the Ice-skating rink where the rink is surrounded by the common walkway in the mall, so every member of the public can actually peer in and watch the people skate in full-view, quite a good design for marketing if you ask me, plenty of free publicity to entice the public to walk in. There are cafes situated at the top of the rink, you can have a drink and peer down into the rink. A dedicated "YUPI" shop just selling YUPI candies! You know.. those little "Pizza" and "hamburger" candies? Well that Ice-cream cone on display is made up of thousands of Yupi "Hamburger" candies! After roaming around for a while and finding nothing else particularly interesting, I headed to the adjacent mall, Central park mall, visiting an art gallery on display. Entrance to the art gallery at Central Mall Roar. Says the Tiger. Look carefully, she is actually stepping out of the frame.. AhHHH RUN! When there's something strange.. in the neighborhood... Who do 'ya call? GHOSTBUSTERS! Quite nice actually, gonna be framed in my office when I become CEO.. in like... gazillion years.. Whoever carved this out of the solid piece of wood really had alot of patience. Look at the intricate details! Hey NoSignboard Seafood is here as well! Ambiance is similar to Paragon in Singapore. Kiddy-oriented amusement arcade. GIANT "catch-the-fish" game! Remember when you were kids? There's this little toy that had fishes or frogs went round in circles and opened their mouths at regular intervals for you to "catch" them? Either via a little ball that the toy will "bite" or via a magnet that is exposed when the fishes open their mouths. This is the GIANT version. And at night, I had time to recce and pop by Arion Mall, mainly to survey the area "Rawamangun", a major bus terminal area. That's all for today. Oh wait. Trapped cat. ha. Little Kitty go read up on Schrödinger's cat... Then maybe you can use Quantum Tunneling to get yourself out of the bin. |
